In August, Tyler Goldbetter was named Vice President of Third Generation Brokerage and Medallion Transfer, where he will work alongside his father, Jon, providing insurance and medallion transfer services to the taxi and for-hire vehicle industries.
The company was initially launched in 2002, when fate brought together Jon, his father, Nathan and Lou Bakalar, who recently retired after 40 years of serving the industry. Tyler, who had been working part-time at the companies since 2018, got his insurance license during Covid, and was the perfect fit to take over important responsibilities, like running the insurance department and handling physical closings at the Taxi & Limousine Commission.
“I treasure the time I spent working with my father, and now I get to work with my son,” explains Jon Goldbetter. “Here we are, another father and son trying to do things the right way for all the hardworking medallion owners and black car drivers out there. Tyler is an amazing young man. He does things most 21-year-old kids can’t even imagine. The customers love him, and I couldn’t be more proud.”
