The NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission’s (TLC’s) Flex Fare Pilot Program became permanent on Sept. 21. TLC said it “recognized that passengers appreciate upfront pricing offered by FHVs. The new rules will allow yellow and green taxicab customers the same option of up-front pricing as FHV customers.”
Yellow and green taxicab drivers will be able to see any fees the e-hail app provider charges prior to accepting a trip. Upon a trip’s completion, a breakdown of the itemized charges will be available, including the amount of tip.
