In December, Steven Shanker, Esq. merged his own practice of 25 years (The Shanker Law Firm, P.C.) with Romano Law PLLC, and became the newest Partner and Chair of their Transportation Law Practice. It became official on Jan. 1, 2025.

Shanker says he will continue to represent his current clients in the FHV industry – including livery, black car, and luxury limousine bases, along with e-hail providers, technology service providers, and providers of NEMT services – but in his new position, “I have a deep bench of talent to support me and my clients in just about any business endeavor, including employment law, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, tax, business agreements, corporate financing, and civil litigation.”

Romano Law has over 30 lawyers, operating in multiple states through four offices.

“I decided to merge my law practice with another law firm – not just any law firm but a powerhouse in employment law, entertainment law, business law, and intellectual property,” noted Shanker. “I will continue to offer my fractional general counsel services to those who seek flat fee arrangements for ongoing legal and business support to prevent problems from occurring and to keep the FHV industry compliant with the law.”

Shanker started his own firm in NYC at the age of 29, “with nothing more than a phone, a computer and ambition.” Over the years, his firm grew steadily, “but I always felt that something was missing,” explained Shanker. “Then, I met Domenic Romano and Shaliz Sadig Romano, and I was immediately impressed. We instantly hit it off. These are true professionals, true leaders who care.”
