In January, the Black Car Assistance Corporation (BCAC) updated their members on changes to curbside pickup procedure at JFK Airport: “All FHVs, ride-app services, and taxis will return to their original curbside positions for passenger pick-ups at JFK Airport’s Terminal 4,” the BCAC noted in an email to members.
In June 2024, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ) initiated a Summer Mitigation Program to address the forecasted increase in passenger volume and construction activities taking place at JFK Airport. The program initially relocated all FHVs from the Terminal 4 frontage to a remote location.
Originally set to expire at the end of the summer of 2024, the initiative was extended multiple times. Going forward, the PANYNJ has said they will continue to monitor passenger forecasts throughout the year and anticipate implementing similar operations beginning in April. The BCAC is continuing to monitor the situation and will update members if any further changes are announced.
