The New York City Council, in January, established a new Committee on For-Hire Vehicles, which will handle oversight of the taxi and for-hire vehicle industries – a job that was previously under the purview of the Committee on Transportation.
Bronx Council Member Ruben Diaz, Sr. is the Chair of the new Committee on For-Hire Vehicles. Additional committee members include Joe Borelli, Costa Constantinides, Francisco Moya, Debi Rose, Ydanis Rodriguez and Paul Vallone.
The Committee on Transportation will oversee the MTA, and will continue to be Chaired by Manhattan Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez. Additional Transportation Committee members include Fernando Cabrera, Costa Constantinides, Chaim Deutsch, Ruben Diaz, Sr., Rafael Espinal, Jr., Peter Koo, Steven Levin, Mark Levine, Carlos Menchaca, I. Daneek Miller, Antonio Reynoso, Donovan Richards, Debi Rose and Rafael Salamanca, Jr.
