A new survey conducted by the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE), in conjunction with American Express Global Business Travel, found that business travelers are questioning how corporate travel policies will affect their lives.

ACTE polled 174 travel managers in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, and asked eight travel buyers their thoughts on the challenges of managing modern business travelers. Respondents noted increased concerns about security and work-life balance; a growing number of travelers also voiced concerns about having reliable internet during their trip.

Flexibility, predictability and productivity are essential when modern business travelers are on the road, the report noted. Personal safety was also a major concern, with 51% enquiring about the topic. Thirty-seven percent of travel managers polled saw a rise in questions regarding technology – in particular, connectivity and communications.

According to the study, more travel managers are working to allow business travelers to add leisure components to their trips, and bring family members along.
