The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced revamps to its Service Alerts system, which include updates on road conditions and operations. MTA Service Alerts offer timely, personalized updates on impacts to train, subway, or bus commutes – including delays, reroutes, and cancellations. Customers can now choose between SMS or email alerts, and when they receive them.

“[These updates allow] drivers to learn of relevant traffic conditions and receive timely updates on planned work that may require lane closures,” noted MTA Bridges and Tunnels President, Cathy Sheridan.
