The Livery Roundtable (LRT) alerted members that a number of livery bases did not pay membership dues to Hereford Insurance Company, the carrier for the New York Independent Livery Driver Benefit Fund (NYILDBF), resulting in those bases receiving Notices of Cancellation. A listing of current and canceled member bases can be found at: https://www.newyorkliveryfund.com/current-members.

According to the LRT, failure to make payments or otherwise have their membership cancelled means the base has no Workers’ Compensation coverage with the Fund. Unless the base has a private policy of full Workers’ Compensation, it is in violation of the law and must pay their premiums immediately, or risk fines from the Workers’ Compensation Board, a suspension of their base license, and/or risk personal liability in the event a driver is injured while working.
