It really makes sense to hire a lawyer to represent you when you receive a pink or criminal ticket in New York City. These tickets are serious, and you can face jail time, immigration consequences, time out of work to go to court, fines, TLC license consequences, DMV license consequences, DMV points, etc.

Some of the more common offenses for which you may receive a pink ticket are: reckless driving, unlicensed or suspended-licensed driving, driving an unregistered vehicle, etc. These tickets are misdemeanors, meaning you could receive jail time.

In most cases, a knowledgeable attorney can handle these matters without you needing to attend court and can generally reduce the charges to a non-criminal, non-reportable, minor nuisance violation… or have them completely dismissed without DMV points.
