In March, Ira Goldstein, Executive Director of the New York Black Car Fund and Black Car Assistance Corporation testified at a public hearing of the New York State Senate Standing Committees of Labor and Transportation. Goldstein spoke about the struggles of drivers in the ground transportation industry in New York – focusing on the devastation caused by the pandemic – and described the many benefits The Black Car Fund provides its drivers. Black Car Fund drivers are provided with a package of benefits that that no other independent contractors in the nation receive.
