During New York City Council’s March 25 meeting, Transportation Committee members Fernando Cabrera, Brad S. Lander, and Kalman Yeger proposed Int 2247, a local law to amend the New York city charter and add two additional commissioners to the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) board.
“This bill would increase the size of the TLC board from nine to eleven commissioners. The two additional commissioners would be required to hold a valid TLC driver license and would be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council.”
It remains to be seen what the Transportation Committee will do, but it is our hope that one of the new board members comes from the FHV industry.
