The Black Car Fund (BCF) announced it is a proud sponsor of the 37th Annual Conference of the International Association of Transportation Regulators (IATR), which is being held in Fort Lauderdale, October 6-11. The event is designed for “transportation industry professionals who want to stay ahead of the curve and make meaningful connections with their peers.”

IATR President Matt Daus said, “IATR would like to thank Ira Goldstein and the Black Car Fund for sponsoring our conference once again. The Fund’s commitment to the health, safety, and welfare of drivers is a benefits and injury compensation model that should be replicated in every state and province. It allows drivers to be independent but have coverage and benefits to protect them and their families.”

The New York Black Car Operators’ Injury Compensation Fund, commonly referred to as The Black Car Fund (BCF), is a not-for-profit organization created by New York State to provide workers’ compensation insurance to drivers affiliated with The BCF’s Member Bases. They also provide a full suite of health, safety, and education related benefits that protect for-hire drivers both on and off the job.

Building on its “modernizing mobility” and “transportation equity” themes from its two previous conferences, the IATR will be covering topics that include accessibility & NEMT standards, sustainability & congestion mitigation, road safety & technology, vehicle automation & artificial intelligence, mobility data solutions, modernizing taximeters and “the regulatory agency of the future.”
