A man was taken into custody after he allegedly carjacked a yellow cab at knifepoint in Midtown in the early morning hours of May 5, the NYPD said. According to officials, at about 3:15am, the man approached a 55-year-old taxi driver on West 30th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues, pulled a knife and demanded that he get out of his car. The driver complied and the suspect drove off in the cab, cops said. Officers tracked the taxi down at West 46th Street and Seventh Ave. and took the man into custody. There were no injuries reported.
