A 16-year-old girl was arrested in May and charged in connection with nearly 20 robbery incidents that targeted livery drivers in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn. She was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
In total, the girl and three others stole more than $3,600 in cash, among other items from livery drivers and passengers who were being dropped off or picked up, Patch previously reported. The NYPD released surveillance images of the remaining suspects, but as of mid-May, they were still at large.
In the first reported incident on Jan. 21 in East Harlem, two suspects approached a 30-year-old sitting in his vehicle, and sprayed an unknown substance in his face, police said. They removed $1,500 and a debit card, then fled the scene. From May 2 to 4, the suspects committed a total of 8 incidents.
