Each year, City & State honors “the top public officials, policymakers, business executives, contractors, union chiefs, academics, experts, advocates, activists and others who are updating and expanding the state’s transportation infrastructure” in its Transportation Power 100 list.

Again this year, both Ira Goldstein, executive director of The Black Car Fund, and Matthew W. Daus, Esq., Founder and Chair of the Windels Marx Transportation Practice Group – two of our monthly columnists – made the list.

According to City & State, “Under Ira Goldstein’s leadership, the Black Car Fund has grown beyond providing workers’ compensation to protecting drivers on and off the job with an array of benefits that form a safety net covering over 50,000 for-hire vehicle drivers.”

The media outlet had this to say about Mr. Daus: “Daus, a former chair of the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission, is a top transportation attorney and a thought leader, driving forward the conversation through research and his daily email blasts and newsletters. Daus serves as the president of the International Association of Transportation Regulators.”

Included on the list with Daus was Sanjay Mody, another partner at Windels Marx.

“Mody, a former senior adviser to the chair of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, brings significant expertise on a number of major transportation and infrastructure projects to his work. Mody has worked on issues related to the development of the region’s airports, maritime transportation systems and development of the World Trade Center.”
