New York City is set to get 267 new fast-charging stalls for electric vehicles (EVs) by 2027, Gov. Kathy Hochul said in February. The $60 million project would accelerate EV charging infrastructure in the city and increase access for wider adoption of EVs. It’s being funded by a loan from the NY Green Bank, the state’s energy investment fund, to Revel, the city’s largest fast-charging provider.

The new stalls will be able to charge an EV in as little as 15 minutes, Hochul said. They’ll be open 24/7 and able to charge any make of electric vehicle. The stalls will be built at nine sites across the city over the next two years, starting with five sites over the next 12 months.

Plans for the coming year include a 44-stall station near LaGuardia Airport and one with 24 stalls at John F. Kennedy Airport. Maspeth, Queens will get a new 60-stall charging station, Greenpoint, Brooklyn will get a new station with 30 stalls and Port Morris in the Bronx will get a 20-stall charging station.

Revel already has EV charging stations in Long Island City, Queens, South Williamsburg and Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn and the Lower East Side in Manhattan. Maps of existing EV charging stations, including curbside chargers, are available at: https://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/motorist/electric-vehicles.shtml#/find/nearest.
