UK-based car leasing company, Vanarama, offers tutorial videos of everything from how to change engine oil to how car leasing works – along with what to do when the inside of your car is sweltering hot.

Tip 1: When you first get in the car, open and close your door repeatedly, like a fan. You’ll feel the hot air leaving your car.

Tip 2: Once you have fanned the hot air out, Vanarama says to turn on your air conditioning to the lowest setting immediately.

Tip 3: Make sure your bottom fans are turned on to help cold air push hot air up and out of your car.

Tip 4: Next, open all of the car’s windows.

Tip 5: Once you are content with your car’s temp, turn the air conditioner to “recirculation.” This way, the cold air will constantly be filtering through your car instead of drawing in hot air.
