NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) licensees are being offered rewards for charging their electric vehicles (EVs) through Con Edison’s EV SmartCharge New York Program. Average annual earnings are estimated at $475 for someone who drives 10,000 miles. You can earn the following when you participate in the program:
- $25 after participating for three months of charging.
- Up to $175 if you avoid charging during weekdays from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, June 1 through September 30.
- 10 cents per kWh when you charge from midnight to 8:00am year-round.
