“The taxi industry is really struggling right now, and I think the 23% fare increase was not a good idea. This increase favors only Uber. The New York Taxi Workers Alliance is shamelessly working in their favor. If it was a 10% increase, that could be reasonable, but 23% scares people away. Another fishy thing is JFK taxi dispatches seem intentionally slow these days. So many passengers wait for taxis, but no taxis are available. Why does the lot keep holding the taxis for a long time? Even if it has 50% taxis, it takes a driver more than two hours to get a fare.”
