Robotaxi companies are learning the hard way that operating driverless cars also means there’s no one supervising what happens inside them. Zoox, which has been offering free rides in Las Vegas and San Francisco since September, acknowledges some passengers don’t follow some pretty basic rules. One of the biggies: People smoke in the vehicles, even though it is forbidden. Another recurring passenger behavior? Vomiting and excessive farting. Some passengers have also reportedly had sex in their self-driving cabs. Most recently, a group of teens made headlines after they were spotted hanging out the windows of a Waymo robotaxi.
