According to the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission, green Boro Taxi passengers have the right to:
- Not be refused service based on race, ethnicity, cultural background, disability, gender or sexual orientation
- Travel with a service animal
- Be driven to any destination in NYC, Westchester, Nassau or Newark Airport
- A driver licensed by the TLC and whose license is displayed inside the vehicle
- A driver who is safe and courteous and obeys all traffic laws
- Pay a metered fare for trips that start on the street, with the option to pay by cash, credit or debit card
- A quiet trip without horn honking
- Receive a fare quote (for pre-arranged trips) from the dispatcher and pay that amount for your ride, unless the trip changes
- A driver who does not use a cell phone (even hands-free) while driving
- Clean air, free of smoke and scent
- Request the driver adjust the heat, air conditioning and radio
- A clean and safe taxicab with working seatbelts for all passengers
- Not share a ride, unless you want to
- Decide whether to and how much to tip their driver
- Request a wheelchair-accessible vehicle
- Take the most direct route to a destination or follow the route of your choice
- A driver who knows city geography
- Not pay an additional amount for baggage or help loading your belongings
