Black Car Fund’s Goldstein Speaks at 2018 IAIABC Forum Workshop

The International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC) held its 2018 Forum on April 17, in Atlanta. The event brought together workers’ compensation leaders to collaborate and connect on major industry issues.

Ira Goldstein, Executive Director of the New York Black Car Operators’ Injury Compensation Fund, participated in a workshop on funding, claims management and other unique challenges related to Uninsured Employer Funds (UEFs). UEFs play an important role in providing benefits to injured workers.

Mr. Goldstein was joined by Joe Moreth, Director of Bureau of Insurance Program, Wisconsin; Abbie Hudgens, Administrator, Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation; and Michael Burns, Executive Director of the Maryland Uninsured Employers’ Fund.

Attendees had access to industry leaders and decision-makers, enjoyed in-depth dialogues at committee meetings on regulatory issues (and updates), and collaborated at educational sessions designed to generate new ideas and strategies. The Forum is attended annually by regulators, administrators, medical directors, claims administrators, medical providers, services providers, government affairs, administrative law judges, insurers, and other industry stakeholders.
