The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers (NYSFTD) held their 1st Annual Gala at Terrace on the Park in Queens on October 10, calling it “a night of celebration, recognition, and community.”

The association “honored leaders who keep New York moving,” including:

  • Jessica Tisch, Police Commissioner
  • Janno Lieber, MTA Chairman
  • David Do, TLC Chairman
  • Russell Maxwell, President, Medical Answering Service

“I want to congratulate Chairman Fernando Mateo and Executive Director Germaine Zayas on the tremendous success of the New York Federation of Taxi Drivers’ inaugural gala,” said Ira Goldstein, executive director of The Black Car Fund. “The event was beautifully organized, held at a terrific venue, and brought together an impressive turnout of industry leaders, elected officials, drivers, and supporters. The honorees truly reflected the Federation’s mission and impact. It was a great night for our industry.”
