The first Alternative Fuel Medallion yellow taxi accessibility drawing will be held May 15, at TLC headquarters; 21 medallions will be randomly picked. Vehicles put into service must be both alternative fuel and Wheelchair-Accessible when a current vehicle is retired, or if the vehicle is changed for any other reason after the drawing date (including crashes). The approved vehicles list can be viewed at: https://www.nyc.gov/assets/tlc/images/content/pages/businesses/vehicles_approved_for_taxicabs.png.

Interested parties can attend or view the event: https://livestream.com/nyctaxi. Results will post on TLC’s website within 24 hours; medallion owners will receive a letter detailing next steps. The drawing is limited to Alterative Fuel, independent medallions with vehicles scheduled to retire between January 1, 2025, and June 30, 2025, or that otherwise need to place a new vehicle into service. Drawings for Alternative Fuel, independent medallions with later retirements will be scheduled at a future date. For answers to any questions, contact tlcrules@tlc.nyc.gov
