The assault occurred as the 72-year-old cabbie was driving at 10th Street and 36th Avenue in Astoria just after 6:45pm on Dec. 9. Police said the man punched the driver in the back of the head, then fled to parts unknown. The victim was minorly injured and taken to Mount Sinai Queens by medics for treatment.
