This past summer, WB Taxi ran a temporary gas-at-cost promotion, exclusively for its drivers, to help support them during the taxi industry’s slower season. With sky-high gas prices, fewer passengers and reduced earning opportunities during the summer months, the initiative was designed to help drivers lower their operating expenses and keep more of their earnings.
“During the promotion, gas at our facility was approximately 50 cents per gallon cheaper than at average New York City gas stations,” explained a company dispatcher named Erick. “Rather than profiting from fuel sales, we passed the savings directly on to our drivers.”
Although the promotion was specifically for the summer and has since ended, it was just one of many initiatives WB Taxi introduces throughout the year to support its drivers. Whether through special promotions, competitive rental rates, reliable maintenance, or everyday amenities, Israel says the company is constantly looking for ways to make drivers’ lives easier and help them succeed.
“We understand the challenges drivers face and regularly looks for opportunities to give back to its driver community,” added Erick.
“I was filling up here all summer,” noted a WB Taxi driver named Jeffrey (pictured here). “Why would I pay more somewhere else?”
