In April, a second driver was arrested and criminally charged for illegally collecting workers’ compensation while working. Madelyn Rodriguez was apparently collecting money from the New York Black Car Fund, while driving a For-Hire Vehicle and collecting a paycheck from a job working for the city of New York.

The charges, which include two Class D Felonies and one Class E Felony, are as follows:

  • PL 155.35(1) Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (1 count)
  • PL 176.20 Insurance Fraud in the Third Degree (1 count)
  • PL 175.10 Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree

Ms. Rodriguez was arrested and released, without the need for bail, as these were not “bail eligible” offenses.
