A pregnant Georgia woman was forced to deliver her child two months earlier than scheduled after being shot three times by her Uber driver, authorities say. Thankfully, mother and child were in good shape shortly after the incident, which occurred on February 19, but the victim was forced to spend weeks in intensive care after being shot twice in the stomach and once in the leg.

The victim’s father, Kenneth Anderson, said his daughter argued with the driver because the color of his car didn’t match the description on the Uber app, making it difficult to find him. When she got out of the car outside her apartment complex, the driver followed her and opened fire, Anderson said.

Uber said it immediately deactivated the driver in the wake of the incident and was working with authorities.

GoFundMe fundraiser to help pay medical expenses was launched by the family.
