According to the Livery Roundtable (LRT), “a number of livery bases failed to pay their membership dues to Hereford Insurance Company, the insurance carrier for the New York Independent Livery Driver Benefit Fund (NYILDBF). The bases that failed to pay were sent a Notice of Cancellation.
Bases that had their memberships canceled on 10/15/22 due to non-payment can visit www.theliveryroundtable.org to learn how to be reinstated.
The failure to pay membership dues means these bases have no Workers’ Compensation coverage with the Fund and unless they have a private policy, they are in violation of the law and are subject to fines from the Workers’ Compensation Board, suspension of their base license, and/or they are at risk for personal liability in the event a driver of an affiliated vehicle is injured while working.
