A victim who was struck by a Taxi that fled the scene in a hit-and-run accident is saying he’s had to carry out his own investigation because police won’t return his calls. Surveillance video from January 14 shows Joe Stallings heading into work at his bakery in Long Island City when was suddenly run over by a cab driver.

Stalling says the driver got out of his cab, apologized and drove off. Stallings was left with four fractured ribs and an injured right knee. Five weeks passed and he says NYPD has done very little to track the driver down. Despite having the taxi’s ID number and company, Stallings says he still can’t get any answers from law enforcement. An NYPD spokesperson said the case remains under investigation.
