Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill announced that Kris Kolluri, current President and CEO of NJ TRANSIT, will retain his role at NJ TRANSIT and also be nominated as Executive Director of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA). This dual role will allow Kolluri to oversee day-to-day operations of both agencies to unify strategy, rethink policies, and improve commutes for N.J. residents.
Prior to his appointment, Kolluri served as Chief Executive Officer of the Gateway Development Commission and was a partner at the Windels Marx law firm. From 2006 to 2008, he was also Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
“I’m very pleased that Kris Kolluri will remain at NJ TRANSIT while assuming expanded responsibilities at the New Jersey Turnpike Authority,” said Matthew W. Daus, Esq., Founder and Chair of the Windels Marx Transportation Practice Group. “This move represents a meaningful step toward a more coordinated, multimodal transportation system, and we’re proud to see a former partner applying that integrated perspective at the highest levels of state transportation leadership.”
