The New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) created a For-Hire Vehicle License Storage Program during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. As conditions have eased, the program is ending on August 31, 2023. Vehicle license holders with a license in storage have until that date to remove their license from storage. Failure to do so will result in the loss of the license.

TLC is working on a new, more limited storage program, which will allow license holders to put licenses in storage periodically; details will be announced separately. Email comments, questions, suggestions to tlcexternalaffairs@tlc.nyc.gov.
