The body of a 36-year-old man who abandoned a 2016 Toyota Camry with Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) plates before jumping off the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge in the early morning hours of June 22 was recovered in the waters off Brooklyn (near Bayview Avenue and W 36 Street), a law enforcement source said.
After initially responding to the scene at about 4:20 a.m., a search of the waters and coastlines below by emergency crews began, according to an NYPD spokesman. The NYPD previously said the 36-year-old man was seen parking the vehicle mid-span on the bridge seconds before jumping.
