Thanks to a recent financial analysis conducted by The Black Car Fund (BCF), the surcharge paid by the customers of their covered drivers is being lowered from 2.5% to 2.25%. The reduction, which goes into effect Aug. 1, will save riders millions of dollars each year without diminishing, in any way, a covered drivers worker’s compensation benefits or the long list of health- and finance-related benefits the BCF provides at no cost to them.

“Affordability is a serious issue in New York, and we’re hoping that the reduction encourages more people to use the services of our covered drivers,” explains BCF’s Executive Director, Ira Goldstein. “It’s not often you see prices actually going down these days, so we were pleased to be able to take this step.”
