In December, Diana Clemente, President of the Black Car Assistance Corporation (BCAC), was appointed to New York City’s Black Car & Livery Task Force. Ms. Clemente, who is also the president of Big Apple Car, is one of eight appointees chosen by Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The task force is charged with studying the traditional Black Car and Livery industries, identifying and solving the many challenges they face, and it will be responsible for issuing recommendations for legislation and policy. The group will also study the potential impacts of advertising and the viability of advertising as an additional revenue source for FHV drivers.

Ms. Clemente’s appointment is greatly welcome at a time when traditional bases need and deserve a voice in an ever-evolving industry.
