Ira Goldstein, Executive Director of The Black Car Fund (BCF), and Matthew W. Daus, Esq., founder of the Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf Transportation Law Practice, were both named to City & State’s 2026 Trailblazers in Transportation List. They were both also named on this list – which spotlights “influential leaders shaping New York’s transportation sector” – in 2025.
Goldstein’s work at The Fund has helped ensure that for-hire vehicle (FHV) drivers have access to critical insurance, medical, and legal protections. His hard work and advocacy have modernized benefits, improved safety standards, and provided additional financial and medical support for his organization’s covered drivers.
In addition to his work at Windels Marx, Daus was the longest-serving Commissioner/Chair of New York City’s Taxi & Limousine Commission. He is also currently the Transportation Technology Chair at The City University of New York’s Transportation Research Center and serves as president of the International Association of Transportation Regulators.
