The NYPD is investigating the violent robbery of a livery driver on Aug. 27, at about 7:20pm near David Street and William Avenue in Great Kills, according to a spokeswoman for the NYPD. The driver was a 39-year-old man, who picked up two individuals along Winchester Avenue in Eltingville. They asked him to pick up a third person at a different location, but that person did not appear, police said. One of the individuals asked to sit in the front passenger seat. That person placed the driver in a headlock while the second individual took the driver’s cell phone. The robbers fled in a black car. No arrests have been made; the investigation continues.
